Quali dati trattiamo

  • Messaggi, file, messaggi vocali, foto e video. Vanno dal tuo dispositivo all'homeserver Matrix che hai scelto. Nelle stanze cifrate sono cifrati end-to-end. Non transitano dai nostri server. Il trattamento è di chi gestisce quell'homeserver, che è titolare autonomo.
  • Token di notifica (FCM). Il tuo dispositivo riceve un token da Firebase (Google). Il token è condiviso con l'homeserver per poter inviare le notifiche. Resta fino alla disinstallazione; l'uscita dall'account lo scollega dall'homeserver.
  • Identificativi di notifica. Per recapitare una notifica, l'homeserver invia al nostro gateway push.moduschat.com l'identificativo della stanza, quello dell'evento e l'indirizzo IP del server che lo invia. Il gateway non ha database né archivi: inoltra la notifica a Firebase e non conserva nulla. Il contenuto del messaggio non viene inviato.
  • Dati locali. Chiavi di cifratura, sessione, cache e bozze restano solo sul tuo dispositivo, cifrati. Non li riceviamo.
  • Preferenze. Tema e impostazioni sono salvati sul dispositivo.
  • Emoji animate. Quando le mostri, il dispositivo scarica i file da fonts.gstatic.com (Google). Google può vedere il tuo indirizzo IP.
  • Permessi. La fotocamera serve per foto, video e per il codice QR di verifica. Il microfono serve per i messaggi vocali. Entrambi sono usati solo quando agisci tu.
  • Acquisti. Se acquisti tramite Google Play, Google tratta i dati del pagamento e non ce li trasmette. Se acquisti dal sito, trattiamo email e numero d'ordine, e il processore di pagamento tratta i dati di pagamento.
  • Telegram. Se accedi a un account Telegram, ModusChat comunica con Telegram direttamente dal tuo dispositivo, tramite la libreria ufficiale TDLib. Messaggi, contatti e file Telegram vanno dal tuo dispositivo ai server di Telegram e viceversa, senza passare dai nostri server: non li riceviamo, non li conserviamo e non li usiamo per alcuno scopo, né per addestrare o far funzionare sistemi di intelligenza artificiale. La sessione Telegram e la copia locale delle chat restano sul dispositivo, cifrate, e si cancellano quando esci dall'account. Per il trattamento dei dati da parte di Telegram vale la sua privacy policy (telegram.org/privacy).

Basi giuridiche

  • Esecuzione del contratto (art. 6.1.b GDPR): funzionamento dell'app, acquisti.
  • Interesse legittimo (art. 6.1.f GDPR): inoltro delle notifiche tramite il gateway push.

Destinatari

  • Google (Firebase, per le notifiche e per le emoji).
  • Cloudflare, come responsabile del trattamento per il gateway push.
  • Il processore di pagamento, solo per gli acquisti sul canale web.
  • L'operatore dell'homeserver che hai scelto, come titolare autonomo.

Trasferimenti extra-UE

Google e Cloudflare possono trattare dati fuori dall'Unione europea. Le garanzie applicate (clausole contrattuali standard o decisioni di adeguatezza) saranno indicate dopo aver letto i rispettivi accordi.

I tuoi diritti

Hai diritto di accesso, rettifica, cancellazione, limitazione, portabilità e opposizione (artt. 15–22 GDPR). Puoi scrivere a dev@moduschat.com. Hai anche diritto di proporre reclamo al Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Processi automatizzati e profilazione

Non trattiamo dati con processi decisionali automatizzati e non facciamo profilazione.

Sito web

Il sito moduschat.com è ospitato su Cloudflare. Non usa cookie, strumenti di statistica, pubblicità né font o script di terzi. Come ogni server web, il fornitore di hosting può registrare per breve tempo l'indirizzo IP e i dati tecnici della richiesta per garantire sicurezza e funzionamento del servizio; non li usiamo per profilarti.

Archiviazione locale

L'app non usa cookie né tracker. Usa l'archiviazione locale del dispositivo solo per far funzionare l'app (preferenze, sessione). Per questo motivo non mostriamo alcun banner di consenso.

I dati che l'app salva sul dispositivo (sessione, chiavi, cache di messaggi e media, database di Telegram) sono cifrati. Fa eccezione un file scaricato da Telegram, che resta in chiaro per il tempo necessario a leggerlo e viene poi eliminato; ne resta solo la copia cifrata.

Minori

L'app non è rivolta ai minori di 16 anni. Non chiediamo né raccogliamo l'età.

What data we process

  • Messages, files, voice messages, photos and videos. They go from your device to the Matrix homeserver you chose. In encrypted rooms they are end-to-end encrypted. They do not pass through our servers. The homeserver operator processes them as an independent controller.
  • Notification token (FCM). Your device receives a token from Firebase (Google). The token is shared with the homeserver so it can send notifications. It lasts until you uninstall the app; signing out unlinks it from your homeserver.
  • Notification identifiers. To deliver a notification, the homeserver sends our gateway push.moduschat.com the room identifier, the event identifier and the IP address of the calling server. The gateway has no database and no storage: it forwards the notification to Firebase and keeps nothing. Message content is not sent.
  • Local data. Encryption keys, session, cache and drafts stay only on your device, encrypted. We do not receive them.
  • Preferences. Theme and settings are saved on the device.
  • Animated emoji. When you view them, the device downloads files from fonts.gstatic.com (Google). Google can see your IP address.
  • Permissions. The camera is used for photos, videos and the verification QR code. The microphone is used for voice messages. Both are used only when you act.
  • Purchases. If you buy through Google Play, Google processes the payment data and does not send it to us. If you buy on the website, we process your email and order number, and the payment processor processes the payment data.
  • Telegram. If you sign in to a Telegram account, ModusChat talks to Telegram directly from your device, through Telegram's official TDLib library. Telegram messages, contacts and files travel between your device and Telegram's servers without passing through ours: we do not receive, store or use them for any purpose, including training or running artificial intelligence. The Telegram session and the local copy of your chats stay on the device, encrypted, and are deleted when you sign out. Telegram's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy (telegram.org/privacy).

Legal bases

  • Performance of a contract (art. 6.1.b GDPR): operating the app, purchases.
  • Legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR): forwarding notifications through the push gateway.

Recipients

  • Google (Firebase, for notifications and emoji).
  • Cloudflare, as processor for the push gateway.
  • The payment processor, only for purchases on the web channel.
  • The operator of the homeserver you chose, as an independent controller.

Transfers outside the EU

Google and Cloudflare may process data outside the European Union. The safeguards applied (standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions) will be stated after reviewing their agreements.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection (arts. 15–22 GDPR). Write to dev@moduschat.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

Automated decisions and profiling

We do not process data through automated decisions and we do not profile.

Website

The moduschat.com website is hosted on Cloudflare. It uses no cookies, analytics, advertising, or third-party fonts and scripts. Like any web server, the hosting provider may briefly log the IP address and technical details of a request to keep the service secure and running; we do not use them to profile you.

Local storage

The app does not use cookies or trackers. It uses the device's local storage only to make the app work (preferences, session). For this reason we show no consent banner.

The data the app saves on the device (session, keys, message and media cache, Telegram database) is encrypted. The one exception is a file downloaded from Telegram, which stays in the clear only for as long as it takes to read it and is then deleted; only the encrypted copy remains.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 16. We do not ask for or collect age.
