What is encrypted, and what is not

Matrix and Telegram protect messages differently, and ModusChat does not hide it.

Matrix

  • Yes
    Encrypted rooms are end-to-end

    Only the participants can read them.

  • Caution
    Unencrypted rooms

    Whoever runs the server can read them.

Telegram

  • Caution
    Chats are not end-to-end

    Telegram can read them, as in any Telegram app.

  • No
    Secret chats

    Not supported yet.
